Standard Week - Green and White Staples

Hello and welcome to standard week where we look at anything standard from staples like today to amazing decks.
Today I am going to show you a white staple then a green one, tomorrow I will be reveling a deck I have designed using both cards.
A staple is a card that is very important to the meta or that is so strong there are so many decks based around it.
The first card is a brilliant white card for Born of the Gods, yes you guessed it, it's the kitty king Brimaz, King of Oreskos. This card is by far my favourite white card in awhile it is just so strong and powerful. The first brilliant point is the mana cost compared to the power and toughness having 4 to gone as means it is able to withstand the removal spells of the new set such as bile blight and lightning strike. The next brilliant thing about this card is the vigilance ability  this means that you can often get a token in your turn and your opponents. The final great thing about this card is the token making  not only do you get one when you attack you also get one when you block what could be better. I can see this card doing really well not only in modern but it in other formats.
The next card is a very simple green card but without it many decks would cease to be playable. It's Elvish Mystic. This card is very simple but can cause you to get you best and most expensive mana cost creatures out sooner. There have been many mana dorks over the years in magic and this is just one of them. This card does happen to die to a lot of burn spells and creatures but I still see it still having a place in standard because it really important in any deck with expensive mana cost creatures.

I hope you have enjoyed looking at some of standards best staples, tomorrow I will be showing you a deck with both of these cards in it.
